Auroville Institute of Applied Technology (AIAT), is a non-profit Industrial Training Centre, which is recognized by the State and Central Government of India. Its aim is to provide high quality vocational education to enhance employability of the rural youth from economically disadvantaged families
AIAT was established in 2004 with the support of the German Government (BMZ; German Ministry of Economical Cooperation and Development) and the non-profit organization VFAVR (Association for Development of the Region around Auroville). AIAT is a unit of the Auroville Village Action Trust which is dedicated to the development of the rural area and belongs to the Auroville Foundation.
AIAT is known for its excellent infrastructure and distinguished track record of furnishing high quality application and job oriented training. Moreover, it distinguishes itself from its peer Institutes in Tamil Nadu and India through its innovative educational approaches and by providing opportunities for personal growth and development.
